About the project

Practitioners within  Vocational Education & Training (VET) often have difficulty in engaging with young people (aged 13-19) who could be classed as “hard to help”.  These difficulties inhibit analysis of the issues that these young people face (and strengths that they have) and also minimise the ability of the practitioner to help the young person obtain employment or formal qualifications.  By using the MetaCards, practitioners can encourage young people to open up and maximise their resourcefulness.

The aims and objectives of the project are to train VET Practitioners from partner countries to use the MetaCards in versions that are translated into their own language.

By the end of the project we will have…

·        Translated the MetaCards and associated Handbooks into the home languages of each of the three Main Partner countries

·        Trained and accredited a group of practitioners from each main partner (and from three other Supporting Partners – Slovakia, Denmark and Austria) to use the MetaCards and fully supported them in using the cards with their clients

·        Trained and accredited a select group of these practitioners to be able to train fellow practitioners to use them

·        Disseminated the training and evaluated how effective the MetaCards are in working with young people
